When it comes to gift-giving, it’s the amount of thought invested that counts toward touching the heart of the receiver. That’s the beautiful thing about needlepoint: there are so many details that can be customized to make the final product all the more personal.

“I’ll keep it forever!”

“I brought it with me to college.”

“I have [it] hanging in my kitchen.”

“That sits on my bed every night.”

"I LOVE IT!!! thank youuu❤️"

The best example of this would be the 15 needlepoints I stitched as end-of-the-year gifts for my high school newspaper staff. Take Kelsey who said she loved purple, cats, and reading “or purple cats reading,” she joked. I felt as if a design for her embroidery had been handed to me on a silver platter, so I stitched a purple cat reading. The others were similar cases.

Mckenzie had a heart for turtles while Mr. Lowman collected bowties. Morgan and Riley both loved cats and were often mixed up or mistaken for sisters, so I stitched two cats that mirrored each other. Ansley loved drag racing, Kaileigh music, and Briana tacos, so each received a depiction of one of the things which brought them joy.

Each embroidery was folded into its hoop and sealed with felt to make a smooth background. There I attached a letter to each reporter.

Another option, versus stitching an inanimate object, is to choose a photo from your media library. The point of pictures is to remember, so choosing an image that captures the essence of your friendship, for example, can be an excellent way to gift a sentiment that means a lot to the giver and receiver.

I charge one cent per stitch. The number of stitches will depend on the complexity of the design, therefore simpler is more cost-efficient. I recommend going more minimalistic than you would think as images tend to be more detailed than they may seem upon initial inspection.

To have the finished product fitted into a presentation format (i.e. hoop, pillow, frame) will be an up-charge as digressed below.
